Evangelism

The goal of our evangelism is simple. It is to encourage, train, and equip God's people to be bold witnesses for Jesus. Telling the Good News about Jesus should be top priority in every Christians's life. It was for Christ Himself during His three-year ministry and deserves to become priority in our lives. Every Christian is Christ's Priest, speaking for people to Him (in prayer) and for Him to people (in evangelism).

When we give witness to our faith with actions in our lives we are serving Him through evangelism. When we invite a friend to church we are serving Him through evangelism. When we greet persons to our congregation we are serving Him through evangelism. Whenever and wherever we speak up for Christ we are serving Him through evangelism. Simply stated, but a huge task that involves all of God's People.

Board of Evangelism

The Evangelism Board shall consist of three elected members, one to be elected each year for a term of three years. The newly elected members shall meet with the board in June and July to establish a budget and to organize for the fiscal year. They shall elect a chairman to represent them on the Church Council, and a secretary to keep minutes and records. They shall select and request appointment of appointed members as needed to fulfill their duties.

The duties of the Evangelism Board shall be:
  1. Making plans complementary to the congregational plan established by the Church Council, establishing goals toward achieving the plan, and preparing detailed budget requirements;
  2. Bringing Trinity Lutheran Church to the attention of community newcomers and developing a good public relations program for this specific purpose;
  3. Planning and carrying out an organized welcome for visitors to Trinity Lutheran Church (Greeter);
  4. Organizing and carrying out a plan for the selection, enlistment and training of a lay "corps of callers" to call on new first time visitors and Confirmation class prospects;
  5. Seeking ways and means, together with the Elders and Pastor of making the reception of new members a very sacred and inspiring point of their lives;
  6. Maintaining an up-to-date "Prospect File"; and
